If you think because you’re a small business, that hackers are not a threat you're dead wrong

I cannot tell you how many times I have heard people say "well I'm just a little 3 or 4 person company, what would they want with little old me." To make matters worse it's usually companies in the financial or medical industries. All hackers know that small companies do not have the resources or the knowledge to protect their systems or to catch on to what is happening. They also know that they can use little networks to jump into big networks. Imagine what would happen if a hacker used a computer at a small financial company, to hop into a larger company, like a bank. The larger company has no idea what's going on because they think its valid traffic, and the small business owner has no idea what's going on. When the dust settles, who is liable? The small business.
